Ah, July. The year’s halfway done. And while some may take the opportunity to go
dry in July, we think a better idea is to give this New Gin a Try in July.
Mulberries and figs have been used throughout history in foods and preserves for
their very tasty flavour combinations of the sweet and the tart, so it makes more
than a little bit of sense to combine them and bring them to the world in what is
a tasty, tasty gin.
Melon, berry and sugar flavours blend with woody cedar notes that are going to
give you that toasty warm feeling on these, the coldest of winter nights, from your
tastebuds to the tips of your toes.

SIGNATURE SERVE
Fevertree Lemon Tonic w/ Lemon Slice
MULBERRY GIMLET
INGREDIENTS
60ml Jam Packed
15ml Lime Juice
15ml Sugar syrup
METHOD
1. Add all ingredients and to
an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
2. Shake and double strain into
a chilled coupette glass.
You know, sometimes words have two meanings. The word ‘gimlet’ can be for
what you’re drinking here, or for that tool which drills small holes. The fact that
it’s kinda fitting for both is the way in which a beverage of this sort, sharp or
piercing, can really drill down into your perceptions of what the cocktail should
be. It was noted in Raymond Chandler’s 1953 novel The Long Goodbye that “a
real gimlet is half gin and half Rose’s lime juice and nothing else.” We’ve strayed
a little from that narrative here, so as Philip Marlowe said in that story, “I’m
drinking what you’re drinking.”

WINTER WARMER
INGREDIENTS
50ml Jam Packed
10ml Peated Whisky
10ml Water
12.5ml Sugar Syrup
METHOD
1. Heat all ingredients gently
in a saucepan.
2. Transfer to a prewarmed
mug, thick glass or
wine glass.
You wouldn’t be wrong thinking that gin was something you usually drink
specifically on hot summer nights, or around sophisticated cocktail crowds as
the key ingredient for a classic Martini.
But in the spirit of giving this New Gin a Try July, we’re going to take the
old favourite to new levels. With notes of juniper, coriander, raspberry leaf,
cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, almond, strawberry gum, mulberry, and fig, this is
a perfect remedy for what chills you, and will warm the cockles of your heart all
winter long.
