Edition No.27 - Aroy-Dee

Sometimes when the right combination of flavours come together in cuisine, there’s no other way to describe it than simply just delicious. So naturally when the right combination of those same flavours come together in a gin, it’s going to be very delicious. Or ‘aroy-dee’ to use the Thai terminology. And with a generous measure of some of our favourite Thai spices, a hint of Australian chilli and a wash of coconut oil silkiness, this is a gin that has both an elegant smoothness and a punch of flavour. But if you really want to know the best way to characterise our Aroy-Dee, well, you just did - the name says it all.

Signature Serve:

Soda water with a slice of ginger

PRINCESS MARY

Don’t be fooled by the simple list of ingredients – this is a cocktail which has some seriously luscious characteristics. Originally in print as a beverage of equal thirds, over the years it has become a little heavier on the booze portion and we are not complaining. The seasoned kick of our Aroy-Dee gin melds into this creamy classic cocktail and brings a subtle heat like no other gin could. So skip dessert and shake up one of these instead.

INGREDIENTS

45ml Aroy-Dee Gin
30ml Crème De Cacao
30ml Single Cream
Garnish: Grated Nutmeg

METHOD

  1. Add all ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Double strain into a chilled martini glass.

AROY-DEE COLLINS

The Collins is a classic cocktail dating back to the late 1800s and its nomenclature is wrapped up in a number of wild tales - with everything from a limerick to a practical joke. No matter how it started, it has certainly expanded into an entire family of Collins beverages, all served in what is now the trademark Collins glass. We’ve combined the layered spice of our Aroy-Dee gin with the fizz and refreshment of a Collins in a cocktail simply called the Aroy-Dee Collins. But you can go ahead and translate that to very-tasty-tall-glass-of-gin-cocktail-goodness.

INGREDIENTS

45ml Aroy-Dee Gin
30ml Lemon Juice
10ml Sugar Syrup
Soda Water
Garnish: 2 Kaffir Lime Leaf
