Edition No.15 - Mārukaṭṭe

Edition No.15 - Mārukaṭṭe

The beautiful aroma of fresh spices. Tables teeming with fragrant herbs and dried fruit. Zesty citrus peels and botanicals in abundance. Is this the scene of a spice market (namely mārukaṭṭe) or our distillery as we begin to craft our gin? Actually, it’s both. The story of our Mārukaṭṭe weaves all the way back to those early spice merchants who brought these flavours to the market - and eventually to the world. To celebrate the endless botanicals that we now get to choose from, we decided there was only one appropriate course of action - we made a gin.

Signature Serve

Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic and garnish with orange peel.

The Madison

While our Mārukaṭṭe effectively began its journey centuries ago with those well-travelled spices, The Madison is a brand- new cocktail - one that just also happens to have its origins at a market. Whilst working at an Old Young’s market stall earlier this year, one of our team so impressed the crew from Duende that they named their next cocktail of the month after her. It’s a twist on the original 1970’s Cosmopolitan and this version with our Mārukaṭṭe is deliciously fruity and a little bit spicy. We give you The Madison.
